WEEK OF March 21:

Jacobs (3-1) lost 2-0 in a Fox Valley Conference match to Cary-Grove on Thursday and then won 1-0 over Metea Valley on a Lauren Grady goal off a Cassidy Sherman assist.

Bartlett improved to 3-1-1 with a 3-0 win over Streamwood, with Nicki Noreen scoring twice and Ashley Johnson scoring once.

Prospect (1-1) went 1-1 in Charlotte, North Carolina in games played on Wednesday and Friday. The Knights lost 1-0 in two overtimes to Charlotte and won 1-0 over Cannon on a goal off the foot of Rachel Suarez, on an assist from Agnes Stankiewicz, with keeper Megan McCabe earning the shutout.

Carmel won 2-0 over Warren on Tuesday on goals from Meegan Johnston and Ashley Orth, on an assist from Brianne Carlson. Katie Larson had six saves in the shutout.

Visiting Metea Valley (2-0-1) won 9-0 over Elgin in an Upstate Eight Conference game on Thursday, as freshman Tyler Proszowski and junior Hannah Thayer both scored hat tricks, and freshman Jenna Kentgen scored a pair of goals in the win. Junior defender Alexis McKay also scored on a 40 yard blast just 55 seconds into the 2nd half. Caleigh Purcell chipped in a pair of assists, while Chloe Hind and Kristina Tomares assisted on Kentgen's goals. Megan Geldernick and Kiley Dunning shared time in net to earn the Mustangs' second shutout of the season.

Glenbard East (2-1-1) won 2-0 over Willowbrook in Villa Park on Friday. Erin Mrazek scored off a Lindsey Paganucci assist and Jessica DeJong scored off a second assist from Paganucci.  Keeper Veronica Fairbairn recorded her second shutout of the year for the Rams.

Elk Grove (2-0) won 1-0 over visiting Dundee-Crown on Friday, on a penalty kick goal off the foot of Michelle Calmeyn in the first half, with keeper Melissa Soloroio posting the Grens' first shutout of the season.

Lincoln-Way West (0-3) got two goals from Cori Brennan and two assists from Kalin Winans in a 5-2 loss to Minooka on Thursday, "but we had a much better showing today," West coach Jeff Theiss said. "The girls battled back twice and we were down 3-2 with eight minutes left before Minooka stretched their lead."

Wheaton Warrenville South (1-0) got a goal and an two assists from Dana Miller in a 4-0 win over visiting Batavia Monday. Hailey Gill, Kate Fowee, and Kelly Langlas also scored for the Tigers and Mary Heaton chipped in an assist. Kelsey Graham recorded the shutout with three saves. Coach Guy Callipari: "The first half was played fairly sloppy by both teams as they tried to acclimate to the conditions, field, competition and energy needed. We played 19 girls in the first half and in the second half we began to take control, with more possession and hence more opportunities."

West Chicago (1-1) lost 4-1 to Schaumburg Wednesday, with Andie Lazzerini scoring in the second half for the Wildcats and Kelsey Myers playing well in net despite the final score. "We did not look good in the first half but the second half was a different story," WEGO coach Cesar Gomez said. "We adjusted and found our game and we were able to posses more, defend better and found the back of the net in the last quarter of the game. Schaumburg is a good team, our girls got something out of this game and that is what we want. We know we need to come out ready to play."

Lincoln-Way West (0-2) lost 5-1 to Plainfield East Tuesday, getting a goal from Cori Brennan on an assist from Kalin Winans.

Visiting Lyons Township (3-0) beat Andrew 1-0 Wednesday, with Kelsey Holbert scoring off of a Lauren Moberg throw-in with roughly 10 minutes to play in the first half. "We did a great job of possessing the ball, especially in the 2nd half going into the wind. The defense played great," LT coach Bill Lanspeary said.  Maggie Orlowski made 3 saves in the Lions' third shutout in three games to start the season.

Wheaton Academy (1-0) won 4-0 over visiting Chicago Christian (2-2) in a Suburban Christian Conference game in West Chicago on Tuesday. Coach Scott Marksberry: "Rachael Nasralla opened the scoring early in the match when she headed home a Crystal Thomas corner kick. Ally Witt built on that lead a few minutes later by beating a pair of defenders inside of the box and beating the goalkeeper to the near post. Nasralla added her second goal in a scramble in front of the net that was created by another Thomas corner kick. WA carried the 3-0 advantage into the half, Thomas wrapped up the scoring when she beat 5 opposing players en route to a calm finish from 12 yards out. The match was also notable as it was Lexi Youngberg's return to action since her 2009 boating accident. The girls are back in action immediately as they travel to Geneva High School Wednesday for a 4:30 game."

Downers Grove South (2-0-1) tied 1-1 with Lincoln-Way North on Tuesday, getting a goal from freshman Stephanie Zurales in the second half.

St. Charles North (1-0) won its season-opener 3-1 against South Elgin, with Shannon Lee getting a goal and an assist and goals also coming from Tess Fischer and Michelle Johnson. Alex Gage and Sammy Gage had assists in the win.

Hinsdale South (1-2) earned its first victory of the season in a 2-1 win over visiting Lincoln-Way Central. The Hornets' Brittney Noble scored on a head shot off an assist from Meagan McPherson. The Knights' tied the score three minutes later before Noble netted the game-winner with 10 minutes left in regulation, off a Jaime Walker feed.

Oswego East (1-1) earned its first win of the season with a 2-1 win over Glenbard South on Monday. South started off the scoring with 6:39 left in the first half. Sophomore Julianna DePoister scored the Wolves first goal of the season with 40 seconds left in the first half to tie the score, and junior midfielder Carli Schlaker scored the winning goal in the last 6 minutes of the second half. Hannah Gargrave played 80 minutes in goal with 4 saves and 5 shots.The Wolves are back in action on Thursday against IMSA.

West Aurora (1-2) posted its first win of the season with Monday's 2-0 victory over visiting Morris. Felicia Dattolo made 9 saves in the team's first shutout, with goals coming from Reilly Kulakowski and Sammie O'Brien, on assists from Jessica Saffell and Tori Raines. Saffell and O'Brien each sent 8 shots on net in the contest while Kulakowski put 3 shots on net.

Naperville Central (3-0-1) won 4-0 over Oswego (0-2) in Naperville, earning a 19-7 edge in shots en route to the Redhawks' third shutout in four games, with Jill D'Amico making four saves in net. Veronica Ellis and Nicole Ramberg each posted a goal and an assist and Central got a goal apiece from Hanna Ralson and Kristen Adams, while Katherine Short chipped in a pair of assists in the victory.

Lockport (1-0) won 2-1over Manteno on Monday, thanks to goals from Ally Brehm and Frannie Vargas and assists from Lexi Cozzi and Julie Divita. The Porters earned a 23-5 edge in shots and keeper Alyssa Deyoung posted 4 saves in the victory. Brehm got onto a Cozzi cross from the right side and used a second effort to push the ball past the Manteno keeper, 10 minutes before halftime. Vargas finished on a Divita feed with two minutes left in the contest.

Glenbard East (1-0-1) tied 1-1 against Morton, getting a goal from Jess DeJong on a Lindsey Paganucci assist.

Naperville North (3-1) 2, Plainfield South (1-1) 0.
